Parking near the club
Parking can be tricky around Woollahra. Hopefully as it is the holiday period, we won’t have so many commuters in the carpark. However, if we have a beautiful, sunny, blue day (which I hope will be all of them) there may be pressure on parking.
The first thing to note is that in the carpark itself there are a number of different areas, from 2 hour to 12 hours, on varying days. It’s important to read the parking sign where you are parking. Also, directly outside the club on weekends is only 5-minute parking at certain times, so again, read the signs.
If the carpark is full, you may be able to find a park on New South Head Rd. We usually manage to find one on Norwich Rd when things are busy, or Kent Rd. If all that fails, Newcastle St can also be an option.
Leave plenty of time for parking if you choose to come that way.
A more pleasant option for some may be catching public transport to Circular Quay and taking the F9 Ferry to Rose Bay.
Getting around Sydney
Sydney Harbour is a great place to sail and contrary to popular belief it’s easy to avoid the ferries and the occasional cruise ship. Woollahra Sailing Club (WSC) is a great venue and has been vastly improved by widening of the launch ramp. And of course there are lots of interesting things to do in and around Sydney. The only drawback to summer in Sydney is traffic and mediocre public transport. On the positive side, most Sydney-siders are on holidays for 2 or 3 weeks after Christmas which means that the roads will be less busy.

Edgecliff Railway Station
Situated at New South Head Rd, Edgecliff NSW 2027, this railway station is 3.5 km from the club, but as part of the Sydney Trains network, offers easy access to various parts of the city, including direct routes to the central business district. See above re Opal and credit cards.
